Ok......I don't usually show pics of myself!! But......I am one happy momma today!! My boys are on their way home from Florida. Yippy!! Nathan (my oldest has been gone for over 2 months & Collin has been gone a week. I've really missed them both. I know it's just a little taste of what my "empty nest" will feel like in a year. :( Have a "Happy Friday"!

Icky Little Pesks!

I went out to water our plants the other morning........this is what I found! A very sad little pot with not much green left :( These icky pesks had themselves a little snack.....I hope they had a tummy ache!!

Wow! I can't believe that it's been over a year since I've posted on my blog!! Life seems to be buzzing by way to fast!! School will be in full swing in less than a month! Happy Friday!!

Thank you Luncheon!!

You know how God sends people into our lives at just the right time?....

Well for the past couple of years he has done that for me at my job!

My job as a middle school registrar is very rewarding....not financially!:(
but....I get to be the first person to meet & greet most of the new families that come to enroll at our school. Sometimes the new kid's might not be thrilled about the family move or are a bit scared about making new friends, etc.....

Some of my many other duties include at least 10,000 pieces of paper for well over 900 students & their families.

That is a job that is way to BIG for one person!

Like so many other things that go on.....most of us don't have a clue about all the behind the scenes stuff that happens before we can buy those clothes that are hung or folded so neatly on the rack, or pick the food we want off of the grocery store shelf!!

I have a new appreciation for all the stuff that gets done ahead of time that most people don't even think about!

Anyway.....This is were special people that soon become my special friends come into play!!

My friends that come & help me at work are like little angels......

So, a couple of years ago we started having a volunteer luncheon to help say Thank You for all that they do to help us out during the school year!!

A Holiday Hello!

It's time to send out the snail mail with a little

A Little Girly Tree!!

I've always been a bit of a "girly girl"...so that being said

the thing that I missed most about not having girls was all the pretty pink girly stuff that I could have gotten over the years instead of all the boyish colors!!

Well... I decided to foofy me up a "Girly Christmas Tree" to put on my counter at work!!

I chose a pretty lime green & pink theme!!
Hobby Lobby has some of the cutiest little decorations & the most amazing selection of ribbon.

I got this little tree for half price...a mere $4.00.
The ornaments & ribbon were also on sale!!

I used colored paper clips to hang the little balls...& dabbed a little glue on the tree tips & sprinkeled a little silver glitter to make it shine!!

O' Christmas Tree!

I had big plans for getting "gobs" done after work today!

It was a great thought!!

But.........

All of the ornaments are still in the boxes!!!
I've decided that no one really cares if the beads & tulle aren't spaced evenly.

Right???
I'm trying really hard to let go of the stuff that shouldn't matter!!

I'm leaning more on the Not side of it!!

Don't get me wrong...I love Christmas.

The celebration of our Saviors birth~the music

~the lights~the holiday TV shows~& much more!!

What I don't like is the STRESS of trying to cram what feels like a years worth of shopping...cooking...gift wrapping & much more into less than a month!!

Did I mention the baking?? I got side tracked & forgot to get a pic of the finished cupcakes!!

I went to The Affair of the Heart with a friend Saturday!

We shopped until our back & shoulders ached & our "dogs were barking"!!

But...it was well worth it!!
