A Holiday Hello!

It's time to send out the snail mail with a little

"Holiday Hello" to all of our friends & family!

I love Christmas cards...they are a gift all by themselves!

Seasons Greetings!!

A Little Girly Tree!!

I've always been a bit of a "girly girl"...so that being said

the thing that I missed most about not having girls was all the pretty pink girly stuff that I could have gotten over the years instead of all the boyish colors!!

Well... I decided to foofy me up a "Girly Christmas Tree" to put on my counter at work!!

I chose a pretty lime green & pink theme!!
Hobby Lobby has some of the cutiest little decorations & the most amazing selection of ribbon.

I got this little tree for half price...a mere $4.00.
The ornaments & ribbon were also on sale!!

I used colored paper clips to hang the little balls...& dabbed a little glue on the tree tips & sprinkeled a little silver glitter to make it shine!!

O' Christmas Tree!

I had big plans for getting "gobs" done after work today!

It was a great thought!!

But.........

All of the ornaments are still in the boxes!!!
I've decided that no one really cares if the beads & tulle aren't spaced evenly.

Right???
I'm trying really hard to let go of the stuff that shouldn't matter!!

I'm leaning more on the Not side of it!!

Don't get me wrong...I love Christmas.

The celebration of our Saviors birth~the music

~the lights~the holiday TV shows~& much more!!

What I don't like is the STRESS of trying to cram what feels like a years worth of shopping...cooking...gift wrapping & much more into less than a month!!

Did I mention the baking?? I got side tracked & forgot to get a pic of the finished cupcakes!!

Feeling Fallish!!

I went to The Affair of the Heart with a friend Saturday!

We shopped until our back & shoulders ached & our "dogs were barking"!!

But...it was well worth it!!

My cordless hand vac quit sucking a long time ago!! Well....it was pretty "sucky" in the way it picked up stuff!! You get the picture...

Apples....carmels....chocolate....pecans....sticks...& a little time!!I chilled the apples after I dipped them into the carmel.


After dipping them into the chocolate...

I sprinkled pecans on them.

Now that is a snack that puts a smile on my face!!

In a bit of a Funk!!

Easy Noodle Casserole

We love noodles at our house!!

Every yummy "carb" packed bite!!

If you are a noodle girl you gotta try these!!

Saute' a few sticks of celery & an onion in a little butter!

Simmer pre-cooked chicken...veggies...& whatever creamy soup you have on hand....chicken..celery..mushroom..etc.

Add a little salt...pepper...dash of garlic...or whatever other seasoning

floats your boat!!

It tastes better than it looks!!

One week ago today we were frantically packing

Nathan's stuff for college.

He will have been gone one week tomorrow!!

I think it's getting a little easier!!

But... I'm still missing him!

My sweet hubby says that this

kinda look like a shrine.

Oh well!!

Comfort Food!!

We've been enjoying some cooler weather the last few days!

On the evenings my sweet hubby works late...I don't do much cooking....It's left overs or soup for supper!!

This is one of my favorite comfort foods!!

Tomato soup...Velveeta cheese...oyster crackers!!

Just a little project!!

Well....my college boy started class today!!

I'm missing him something awful....I won't be wearing any mascara for a few days....cause I just seem to keep crying it off!!

I've decided (with the advice of my sweet hubby) that I'm gonna need to keep busy doing more projects!!

I'm thinking that he's thinking projects will be cheaper than therapy!!

I've had this big Ball jar for several years.

I used to keep it at work with candy in it....but it took up to much space!!

I decided to make a candle thingy out of it!!

I found these neat glass drops....they kinda look like marbles....bought a candle....put it all together & this is what I got!!

I guess you could say that this is one of my "therapy projects"!!

College Move In Day!!

You know....from the time our children are little we strive to help them become responsible & independent people!

Well....this day has come way to soon for me!!

I feel like I still need more time....but the day has come for me to turn loose a little more than I really want to & send my first born to college!!

It was hard trying to decide how much stuff to take!!
I snuck into Nate's room this morning & took a picture of him sleeping...just like I did on his first day of Kindergarten!

We left bright & early so we would get a good parking spot!!

I'm grateful for cell phones.....It will be my life line to him!!

Collin was a good sport....he helped carry Nates stuff upstairs to his room!!

Of course Nathan thought I packed way too much stuff!!

I took some pictures to show how nice his room is....Not!!

It's funny how he doesn't even seem to notice how nasty the floor is....icky the paint is....crooked the mini blind is....etc!!
What matters to him is that he has good friends to share this new & exciting time in his life!!!
After we got him all unpacked....we headed over to the Student Union to get a few last minute things!!
Nate had to humor me one last time!!

This is an exciting, but scarey & sad time for us!!
